To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Steven Spielberg's classic film 'E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial,' Madame Tussauds has launched an astonishing wax likeness of the alien hero bringing to life one of the movie's most iconic scenes.
The E.T. figure is set to appear in five locations, including Hollywood, London, Berlin, Amsterdam and Sydney.
Madame Tussauds manager Colin Thomas:
"Today the reason we're here is to celebrate is because we're launching E.T., in case you haven't guessed. The reason we're doing it now is that it's the thirtieth anniversary. Can you believe that? Thirty years since this iconic movie came to the screen."
'E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial,' has generated nearly $ 800m in revenue, a handsome return on a production budget of little over $ 10m. The new wax figures took around two months to create and cost $ 80,000 to produce.
