Rescue members searched the remains of a bus on Thursday (July 19), one day after six Israeli tourists were killed in an attack in Burgas airport in Bulgaria. According to the Bulgarian Interior Ministry, a suicide bomber carried out an attack that killed seven people in a bus transporting Israeli tourists in Bulgaria. Israel said Iranian-backed Hezbollah militants were to blame.
The attack took place on Wednesday (July 18) at Burgas airport, a popular gateway for tourists visiting the Black Sea coast. Video surveillance footage showed the bomber was similar in appearance to tourists arriving at the airport, Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov said. The bomber had been circling around a group of buses, which were to take Israeli tourists to a resort near Burgas, for about an hour before the explosion, the surveillance footage showed. The footage obtained by Reuters Television showed the completely destroyed bus. Charred seats and peices of metal hanging from the wreck.
