JN1's Sivan Raviv spoke with members of the European Jewish Parliament in Brussels during its inauguration on February 16th. The EJP includes 120 elected Jewish leaders from across Europe -- the same number of members as the Israeli Knesset -- and provides European Jewry with a platform for dialogue with the European Union and world leaders. Over 400,000 Jews voted in the parliamentary elections in late 2011, and the newly elected leaders will now work to impact legislation and political agenda. Their first General Assembly will be held this April.
