Iranian women are learning "Ninjutsu" at a martial arts school in Tehran. Many were surprised to learn that such a conservative Islamic state would allow women to receive martial arts training, and the Iranian media reported that over 3,500 women are training to become kunoichi, or female ninja. Many of the women were recorded saying that they were ready to fight for their country.
However, experts contend that what is being called Ninjutsu is not a genuine or even realistic form of martial arts. And since the footage was released by the state-funded Press TV network, Iran may have wanted to show the West that it doesn't discriminate against women and that women support the regime.
