As Israel prepares to mark the one-year anniversary since the release of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit following 5 years of Hamas captivity, Hamas leaders have issued a new call for fresh IDF hostages. Shalit was captured by Hamas militants while on patrol close to the Gaza border in 2007. He was exchanged for 1,000 Hamas prisoners held in Israeli jails - a lopsided deal which has encouraged Hamas leaders to seek further hostages.
