Description:
An Egypt newspaper has hit back at the recent publication of cartoons in a French newspaper ridiculing the Muslim Prophet Muhammad by creating its own set of thought-provoking comics on relations between Islamic countries and the West.
The al-Watan newspaper's editor said that the goal of the project was to show that violence was not a legitimate response to insults of Islam and to attempt to diffuse current tensions.
This comes after an anti-Islam YouTube film produced in California sparked widespread rioting across the Muslim World, which has left an estimated 51 people dead, including the US ambassador to Libya, who died when a mob attacked the embassy building in Benghazi.
