The 32nd Annual San Francisco Jewish Film Festival featured a lineup of 32 films from 12 different countries that were screened across the Bay Area in several venues. This year's festival highlighted movies of a musical nature to offset other, more serious, films. San Francisco was the first city to create a Jewish film festival in 1980 and earned a reputation for selecting provocative films from across the political spectrum. In previous years, those selections often drew demonstrators and led to screaming matches. This year, however, the festival remained quiet and patrons appreciated the musical theme and diverse film choices.
